Fissure Sealants In Blackburn
Our teeth have naturally occurring fissures (“pits and grooves”) on the chewing surfaces which collect food after each meal. Toothbrushes do not always clean up those grooves (see picture). Over time softening and deepening of those fissures occur, leading to decay. If left untreated, you will surely get a toothache!
Fissure sealants are plastic coatings that set rock hard in those grooves, and are great for children and adults alike for decay prevention.
At Hearts Dental, we are passionate about disease prevention. Our dentists use the advanced technique to improve the bonding strengths of your fissure sealants. We believe that fissure sealants are just like regular fillings, when done correctly, should last many years.
Call us to have you or your child’s teeth assessed to see if they can benefit from fissure sealants.
